How Van Quotes Work: Estimate vs Confirmed Trip
Understand what the public quote panel includes, what can change after review, and why requests are not instant bookings.
The booking page shows an estimate so you can plan. It is not a checkout total and it is not a confirmed reservation. That distinction keeps expectations clear for families and groups who need a van and driver—not a self-serve ticket.
What the estimate usually includes
Quote components typically reflect distance-based fuel planning, driver fee structure, optional driver meals, van rental tiers, and any toll amount you enter. Round-trip versus one-way changes billable distance. The panel updates as you complete the route and options.
Treat the number as a planning range. Final pricing can move after admin review when the route, timing, or inclusions change.
What “request” means
Submitting the form creates a booking request for review. Confirmed trips are created only after operations checks driver, van, and schedule fit. You should not assume the van is locked the moment you click submit.
If Supabase is not configured in a demo environment, the UI may still accept a demo submission without persisting—another reason to treat confirmation as a human-reviewed step in production.
Why estimates can change
- Route refinements or added stopovers
- Longer blocked time for return-to-base and preparation
- Tolls, parking, or meal decisions after discussion
- Hard constraints like flight times or event call times
How to get a cleaner first estimate
Enter a complete route, honest passenger count, and clear notes. Toggle round-trip and driver meals intentionally. Optional toll fields help when you already know expressways are likely.
When you need a structured quote, use the booking page. Contact is better for open questions that are not yet a full itinerary.
